The National Centre for Chinese Martial Arts boasts 7 Black Sash grade Instructors. Each has trained long and hard just to attain this level. Part of the path to becoming a Black Sash includes specific training in how to teach effectively to the varous abilities, ages and learning abilities of students.
The NCCMA also has regular 'Guest' insructors holding one or two day classes and seminars, in the past we have had Master Liming Yue, Steve Cotter and Master Hui to name a few.

Harrogate Club Instructor for 14 years, Over 24 years experience in Martial Arts with 20 years in Lau Gar Kung Fu. Stu has a broad interest in all types of martial arts and coupled with numerous visits to China has developed a greater understanding enabling him to teach to a high level in many areas.
Stuart particularly enjoys practicing and teaching the application of his style and also devotes alot of time to Meditation techniques learnt whilst in China. Stuart also forms the 'strong' rear end of the Lion in the Lion Dance routines.

Nathan has been training under Sifu Agars since 1997. He is the main instructor for the Senior Grade Kung Fu (Thursdays) and teaches private students also.
Nathan is currently practicing towards his Sixth Degree which involves spear and Kwan Dao weapons. In his spare time, Nathan looks after the Lau Gar Association website: www.laugar-kungfu.com

Carl has been training in Lau Gar since 2001 and teaches the adults Lau Gar Kung Fu on a Tuesday night. Carl also manages the NCCMA and Harrogate Kung Fu websites as well as the Lau Gar Association website: www.laugar-kungfu.com
Carl is currently learning the Butterfly Knives and the Dan Dao Sword/Knife) for his next grading and often helps during the busy Chinese New Years Celebrations with the Lion Dance demonstrations.

James has been training in Lau Gar since 2001, and has been a BKFA Accredited Tai Chi instructor since 2004. James is an assistant instructor in the Thursday night Kung Fu classes and takes occasional Chen and Yang Tai Chi classes.

Jose (Jo) Has been training Lau Gar since 2002. He is currently working towards his 4th Degree. Although Jose does not instruct a specific class, he can be found teaching adhoc, adult kung fu classes that fit around his busy schedule.
Jose is a drum teacher by profession and so has a part in the Lion Dance team as the drummer, of course!
Mike Rowntree 2nd Degree Black Sash, Lau Gar Kung Fu
Mike has been training in Lau Gar since 2000. Mike runs the Warrior dragons children's
(10-14 years) class on a Monday at the NCCMA.
One of Mike's specialty areas is Chin Na. This is the ability to use locks that control or lock an opponent's joints or muscles/tendons so he cannot move, and so neutralizing the opponent's fighting ability.
Jon Gill Black Belt Lau Gar Kickboxing, Jujitsu and Grappling Trainer
Jon is an enthusiastic martial artist and has been training various styles and skills. He is Black Belt in Lau Gar Kickboxing and teaches Kickboxing at the Gym. Jon is currently with the Lau Gar National Squad training for competitions.
