Warrior Dragaons

Traditional Chinese Lau Gar Kung Fu for Children and teens aged 10-14 years of age.

Warrior Dragons classes follow the BKFA (British Kung Fu Association) Syllabus for learning Lau Gar Kung Fu. The classes teach using a grading system with Sashes and Certificates awarded for successful completion of a grading examination.

The Lau Gar Syllabus through careful teaching, repetition and practice, allows students to grow with confidence as their techniques improve. The syllabus teaches walking techniques, opponent based attack and defence routines, Forms as well as punching a kicking techniques.

Lau Gar is a powerful style. Especially useful in developing competition fighters but also extremely beneficial in self defence and building confidence and flexibility too. The style does not require students to achieve high kicks or leaping kicks and moves seen in some styles and whilst this may be what some students are looking for, Lau Gar Kung Fu, offers a proven close combat style that is as efficient in its moves as it is in its ability to counter an opponent’s attack.

Warrior Dragons classes often mix non syllabus subjects such as self defence, both unarmed and with makeshift weapons like newspapers, keys and phones. additionally classes teaching traditional weapons training are a sure winner with students. Students will also get opportuities to practice Sparring with their fellow students under standard Kickboxing light contact rules as a means to hone reactions and techniques.

Warrior dragons classes also include a section of the lesson devoted to exercise, flexibility improvement and team based games.

IMPROVED CONFIDENCE
Students with low self confidence and even degrees of Autism have shown remarkable levels of improvement from engaging in a Martial Art at the NCCMA. Through close interaction and contact activities with other students, as well as encouragement from peers, instructor and parents, we regularly see big improvements that have widespread bearing on the child’s future.

INCREASED FITNESS
In this official survey by the NHS, it was discovered that 16.6% of boys and 16.7% of girls aged under ten are obese. The UK Government recommend one hour of exercise a day for children. Is your child getting enough exercise? School curriculums doe not allocate physical education daily, and whilst 'running around in the playground might seen to be a substitute, do you really know if the play is sufficient or offering any value?

DISCIPLINE
Is all about your child learning appropriate behaviours. Children who develop the important life skills to control their behaviour, are more likely to achieve lifelong success. The ability to listen, take instruction, awareness of others, and the effects of your reactions.

INCREASED CONCENTRATION
Concentration helps us study and assists understanding, improves our memory, and helps us focus on our goals or tasks, making us more efficient.

MANNERS AND SOCIAL SKILLS
We stress the importance of good manners in our classes and our team building games help with social skills. Learning how to work with others, respect and tolerance are all part of the kind of skill students will learn.

LEARN TO AVOID CONFRONTATION / INCREASED AWARENESS
Bullying and getting into awkward situations can be avoided most of the time with the correct knowledge and awareness. This is a core part of our syllabus.

AVOID BEING A VICTIM OF BULLYING
Being confident enough to deal with all types of situations and the verbal skills to assert yourself. Simply being confident, can be enough to ensure that you don't become a victim in any stage of life. Confidence comes from within; being sure you can deal with situation, being comfortable and being aware.
